Martin Ashley, J.D., L.M.T.

Martin Ashley became a lawyer in 1977 and went to work for the State of Illinois doing criminal prosecution appeals. He became district office manager a couple of years later, but after several years of practice felt that his legal work was not contributing anything of real value to society. He resigned and went off in search of some new kind of work.

After traveling for a few months, he decided to attend massage school. He graduated from massage school in 1984. Since that time he has practiced massage in a number of locations in five different states, has established a full-time massage practice, and has lectured and given workshops at massage schools. He also taught legal writing at the University of Florida Law School for several years. Currently, Mr. Ashley has a part time massage practice as well as a part time law practice and also runs Enterprise Publishing.

Massage: A Career At Your Fingertips was first published in 1992 by Station Hill Press, and republished in 1994 by Enterprise Publishing. The second edition was published in 1995 by Enterprise Publishing, and the Third Edition was published in 1998 by Enterprise Publishing. The fourth edition was published in 2002 by Enterprise Publishing.
