Massage Therapy Tuition & Training Costs
Your Massage Therapist Tuition & Financial Aid Resource

What kind of tuition can I expect?
Massage school tuition ranges roughly from $6 to $17 per hour of education, with the average around $9 or $10 per hour. Therefore, if your state doesn’t have licensing requirements and you want to take a short program, you may be able to get 100 hours of training for under $1,000. States with licensing criteria commonly require 500 hours of training, which puts tuition in the range of $5,000 to $9,000. Some massage schools include the cost of a massage table. If the one you select does not, plan to spend about $500 more to purchase a table.

Is Financial Aid available?
Those who attend an accredited massage school may be eligible for federal loans and grants. Read more about accreditation.

By requesting information from the massage schools of your choice, you can find out what financial aid they offer. The goal of school financial aid offices is to make every effort to help you finance your education. They take many factors into consideration to determine eligibility, but schools have people who can help guide you through financial aid programs and payment options to find the package that is best for you.
