Mission

To promote therapeutic massage, and expand the reach of massage through education.

Goals

  • To not only teach, but enrich the lives of each student.
  • To not only provide education, but touch each student's life as an individual.

Letter From the Director

Dear Prospective Student,

I know how difficult it is to select a school, and more importantly, how difficult it is to select a career. The intent of this letter is not to sell you on this school or massage therapy education. The sole purpose of this letter is to make the information you need available in order for you to make an educated decision. What I want to do is make sure you understand what the field of massage therapy is all about. So, I?m going to make some suggestions.

First of all, you need to experience a massage. You can call the Associated Body & Massage Professionals at 800-458-2267 and request a referral list for certified therapists in your area.

Next, find out about the massage therapy profession, talk to other therapists, and read the book Massage - a Career at Your Fingertips, by Martin Ashley. This book will give you a good prospective on the business. It also has a listing of massage schools, but may not have all of them due to the publication date.

Take a mini-course which will give you a taste of what hands-on massage is all about. Most massage schools offer this introductory course.

You must have a desire to do massage, purely for the reason of care giving. The most successful people in this business have a big heart.

I hope this will make your decision process easier and more effective, and don't stop at my suggestions, investigate, until you are sure. Good luck, in whatever avenue you pursue.

Sincerely,

Gale Miller

About the Director

The director is Gale Miller. Mr. Miller has a diverse background, ranging from being a teacher and manager of computer professionals, to being a published author, editor of a literary magazine, and past president of a non-profit organization. With these skills the director brings a strong background in, teaching, organization, and people skills.

Mr. Miller is an internationally certified massage therapist through the ABMP, who teaches massage therapy and offers community mini-course massage training sessions. This is just one of many efforts that he will initiate to educate the public about massage therapy.

The director realizes, through his own experience, how difficult it is to attend school when you have a family and a full time job. This is why he believes it is important to develop a program that fits a busy life style, but still maintains a high standard.

Class Size

The Class size is limited to 8 students per class. However, there could be an occasion to accommodate a few more students. This would only be a temporary situation. Because all of the staff here feels it is important to get the individual close personal training.

Admissions

Students must be at least 18 years of age, and be in good health. Each prospective student will be interviewed by the director. Students should have previous exposure to bodywork. Students must also conduct themselves as professionals, have a positive attitude, allocate sufficient time to study, and have a sincere desire to perform massage therapy in a positive manner.

If you are interested in any of our programs and would like to find out more, please Request Information.
