Massage Therapy - Certificate

Massage Therapy has achieved unprecedented popularity in recent years. Career opportunities are on the rise for the licensed massage therapist including private health clubs, day spas and resorts, beauty salons, corporations, stress reduction/relaxation centers. Opportunities lie in health care working in association with other health practitioners such as chiropractors, medical doctors, dentists, physical therapists, and psychologists.

The professional Massage Therapy Certificate program teaches the art and science of massage therapy, while also teaching sound business practices, which prepare students for success in the marketplace. In the professional Massage Therapy program at Carrington College, students learn light energy work as well as deep-tissue modalities, Spa Therapies, Infant massage, Shiatsu, and how to treat specific pain and dysfunction, as well as a holistic approach to health and healing.

As a graduate of the professional Massage Therapy program's didactic and laboratory therapy instruction, the graduate would qualify to sit for the National Certification Exam administered by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Physical Therapy Assistant - Associate's

Physical Therapy Assistant is a rewarding profession in the health care industry. This hands-on career involves interacting and aiding patients, playing a vital role in improving their quality of life physically and emotionally. Working under the supervision of a physical therapist, physical therapy assistants help patients recover from illnesses and injuries by providing various treatment programs. Physical therapy assistants help patients improve or restore mobility, relieve pain, or provide preventative treatments from physical disabilities and diseases. Exercises, massages, and ultrasounds are just some of the methods Physical Therapy Assistants will use to maximize the movement potential in their patients. Responsibilities also include recording treatment responses and results from patients to the physical therapist.

In as few as 80 weeks at Carrington College, you can earn your Associate of Science Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting. You will gain the training and learn the skills to work as a Physical Therapy Assistant in a variety of health care settings. Physical Therapy Assistants may work at rehabilitation centers, hospitals, nursing care facilities, physical therapy offices, or at other health care facilities.
