The Whole Health Educator / Practitioner Program

The Whole Holistic Educator/ Practitioner Program is an integrative complementary medicine program designed to meet two purposes. The first purpose is to graduate complementary medicine practitioners with an array of treatment and educational skills that help create a well-rounded, value-added clinical practice. These skills fulfill all the components of a wellness practice from acupressure massage to nutrition and lifestyle coaching. The second purpose is to graduate experts in wellness education who can assist institutions and intergovernmental agencies which are focusing more and more on wellness programs and integrative medicine. These wellness educators can help design and build wellness programs and teach the tai chi, chi gung, meditation and nutrition classes which are central components to wellness programs that empower and inform the participants on how to better manage their health. The basis of this Program is contained within year one of CCATCM's existing Acupuncture Diploma Programs core curriculum (ie. TCM Theory, communication, acupressure, herbal medicine) and the various modalities it introduces (ie. tai chi, chi gung, reflexology.) The College's core instructors have many years experience working with intergovernmental agencies and institutions such as recreation centers and nursing homes. They have also worked in Chinese hospitals within an integrative medical model. This past summer they launched the first of many conferences that explore the integrative medical model (the First Annual International Conference on Acupuncture and Healing).
