Look at your hands. They will be your future. In the Cleveland College massage therapy program, your hands become instruments of caring and comfort--the highly trained tools of your profession. Cleveland College's Allied Health Division is now offering a two-phased, 600-hour massage therapy program on its Los Angeles campus. The 32-week program is designed to graduate therapists who will be highly skilled in Swedish, deep tissue, sports and rehabilitative massage. A 100-hour student clinic experience is incorporated into this phase to give the student practical experience in developing his or her skills under the supervision of highly experienced staff. This gives the student both confidence and experience in treating clients of all types and is viewed by potential employers as job experience. Currently in California, licensing is done in each city or county individually. The standards may vary from city to city. By completing this program graduates will be able to apply for licensure in most, if not all, municipalities in California. The City of Los Angeles requires a minimum of 300 hours.
Completion of this program will position the graduate for a successful career in private practice working for a primary health care provider such as:
Graduates will also be qualified to sit for the National Certification Examination for therapeutic massage and bodywork, which is required in many states for licensing. Application RequirementsSuccessful applicants must meet the following admissions requirements:
Tuition: $4,500.00 for Phase 1 and $3,500.00 for Phase 2.
