Massage therapy in the Western health care system continues to grow every year. The massage therapist serves an important role in communicating with patients and other health care professionals. She/he must be able to articulate intelligently and accurately about disease and their response to massage therapy.

Massage therapists must be able to recognize the major characteristics of disease from which their clients may suffer so as to be able to avoid inappropriate massage strokes, give accurate information to these clients, and refer them to appropriate physicians when it is indicated.

Reflexology

Reflexology is the study of the arts and science of massaging reflex points on the feet, hands and ears that correspond to each organ and system in the body. One of the theories of reflexology suggest that energy flows from vital organs and systems through channels in the body and terminate to form the reflex points on the feet, hands or ears. When stress, tension or congestion blocks this vital energy flow, disease occurs. By massaging these reflex points, Energy channels open, the person is relaxed, the circulation improves, and harmony and energy balance within the body is restored and the body has the ability to heal itself.

In this course we will discuss and learn the theories, practical skills, psychological (placebo or suggestion effects) and physiological health benefits of this ancient art of Natural healing which has been practiced and accepted by the public worldwide, as well as by Holistic Health Care Professionals and individual doctors.

Spa Therapy

This course will teach you the theories, practical skills, physical health and psychological benefits of this ancient art of natural healing which has been accepted worldwide by the public, holistic health care professionals and individual medical doctors. This course has been specially designed for those who wish to work in a spa, on a cruise ship, or plan on opening their own spa.

Therapeutic Hot Stone Massage

Stone Massage while using Swedish Technique provides a rejuvenating experience to the body, mind and soul. Therapeutic hot stone massage follows the same principles as Reflexology, balancing the body's energies and allowing more energy flow to blocked areas of the body. Hot and cold applications are used to invigorate and restore full body relaxation.
