Introduction

California Healing Arts College was founded in 1988 by Dr. Paul Schwinghamer, a chiropractor and educator, devoted to the field of massage therapy. The school became an ACCSCT accredited member in 2002, and began offering federal financial assistance to qualified students in 2003. California Healing Arts College is recognized as one of the top ten schools in the United States for studying Massage Therapy, according to the popular book, "Massage For Dummies", authored by Steve Capellini (p.304 - 1999). We are located in West Los Angeles, only ten minutes by car from Santa Monica beach, surrounded by great restaurants and easy freeway access.

Programs

California Healing Arts College is dedicated to providing you with high quality training in massage therapy, designed to prepare you for successful employment in clinics, spas, chiropractic offices, beauty salons, office environments or self-employment according to your goals.

• Massage Therapist - Master CN650
  The 720 clock hour (33 semester credit) Massage Therapist-Master program provides extensive training in oscillation, shiatsu, deep tissue, jade stone therapy, massage theory and practical experience far beyond the basic practitioner or technician level, and thoroughly prepares the student to work in professional clinical and spa massage environments. This level of training is designed to prepare the student for most individual city and county licensing requirements in California. Students are sufficiently trained to sit for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) upon completion of this program.

Financial Assistance

California Healing Arts College participates in Title IV Federal Financial Assistance programs, such as Federal PELL Grants, Federal Stafford Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans, Federal Work Study, and Federal PLUS Loans, for students who qualify.

What is ACCSCT Accreditation?

California Healing Arts College is nationally accredited through the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). Accreditation is a much more challenging achievement to gain and maintain than simple approval through the California State Department of Education. As you search for the school that feels 'right' to you for your studies in Massage Therapy, ask about accreditation. California Healing Arts College is the only ACCSCT accredited vocational school in Los Angeles focusing all of its programs exclusively in the field of Massage Therapy. At a minimum, all schools participating in Title IV Federal Financial Assistance programs must be accredited through a nationally recognized accrediting agency.

• The Massage Therapist Master program offered at California Healing Arts College meets educational requirements set by the NCBTMB in order to test for the National Certification Exam in Massage Therapy.
• The U.S. Veterans Administration has approved California Healing Arts College as a training provider for veterans.
• California Healing Arts College is approved by the Board of Registered Nursing as a provider of continuing education credit for Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses.
