Thank you for your interest in the Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy! We are located at the foot of Pikes Peak in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado. We have been training competent, caring massage therapists since 1985.

We invite you to consider investing your time and energy in a career that can be both fun and rewarding. We have two programs to choose from.

1150-Hour Trigger Point/Neuromuscular Program

This comprehensive massage certification program includes certification in Trigger Point Therapy and an international certification in Neuromuscular Therapy. The program is typically completed in one-year. Our Neuromuscular Certification is offered by the International Academy for Neuromuscular Therapies (IANMT). Our 1150-hour program also includes:

  • 211 hours of Anatomy and Physiology
  • 170 hours of Massage Theory
  • 522 hours of Massage Technique
  • Student clinic shifts, internships, sports and marketing events

650-Hour Integrative Techniques Program

This program is new to CIMT and was developed for those students looking for a solid foundational massage education to meet the 500-hour minimum requirement for Colorado and national licensure. This program is typically completed in 8 months. The program offers graduates an "integrative techniques" certification as well as:

  • 189.75 hours of Anatomy and Physiology
  • 34 hours of Massage Theory
  • 376 hours of Massage Technique
  • Student clinic shifts, sports and marketing events

CIMT Mission

  1. CIMT prepares students for the establishment of a professional, ethical massage therapy practice which serves, enhances and protects the health, safety and welfare of the public.
  2. CIMT prepares students for the NCETMB as well as state and local written and practical examinations as required for certification or licensure.
  3. Prepare students for specialization in Neuromuscular Therapy and Trigger Point Therapy modalities.

2009 – 2010 Calendar (1150-hour and 650-hour sessions)

  • Spring A.M. Session begins on 4/14/09
  • Summer P.M. Session begins on 7/21/09
  • Fall A.M. Session begins on 10/20/09
