Welcome to CITCM

CITCM was founded with the belief that quality education creates future foundation and success for the profession and individual practitioners. To ensure the objectives, we provide a comprehensive curriculum, an exceptional faculty, interactive classes are enhanced with rich online study materials and an optimistic learning atmosphere. Student internship is through our well-established clinic, which has a large volume of patients, wide varieties of clinical conditions, a thorough clinical training system with very experienced supervisors.

Exceptional Faculty

Our faculty member's chief instructors are Ph. D degree holders in acupuncture and TCM with extensive teaching, clinical and research experiences. Our faculty members are also joined with a diversity of health care practitioners such as physicians, naturopath, dentists, chiropractors, physiotherapists, homoeopathic, and nutritionist who loves teaching and have a holistic and integrated approach towards their practice.

Diplomas and Degrees

At CITCM students will receive the following three diplomas when they finish the 4-year Doctor of TCM program:

• Doctor of Acupuncture (Ac.) Diploma
• Doctor of TCM Diploma
• Chinese Tui Na Massage Diploma

Or they will finish a five year program with a bachelor's degree which will be issued from Shangdong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Also, a 3-year Master's Degree in Acupuncture is offered in collaboration with Tianjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China.

Computer-Aided Programs

Our computer-aided programs are designed for students who are seeking quality Acupuncture and TCM education but have time and/or regional limitations that make them unable to attend our regular classes. Live classes delivered through high-definition streaming videos are available 24/7 for our online students. Interactive online quizzes, case studies and mock exams enrich students' study resources. Intensive on-site hands-on training ensures that students are properly trained in the practical component of the program. Easy communication with instructors allows for prompt answers to questions through emails, telephones and our unique online study assisting system. Also, a high-speed server and advanced technical systems are used to avoid lagging, and timely technical support allows online students to enjoy a smooth study at home.

High Standard of Curriculum

The curricula of the Acupuncture Diploma program and Doctor of Ac./Doctor of TCM offered by CITCM meets or exceeds the regulation requirements of Alberta, British Columbia and the United States. The curricula are based on five years of TCM university training in China with sufficient training hours: 2,886 hours for the acupuncture program, 4,188 hours for the Doctor of Ac./TCM program and 5,388 hours for the bachelor's program.

Excellent Clinic Facilities

Students have the option of multiple clinical settings for their clinical experience, choosing from BodyMind Synergy Health Centre (Calgary), the Chengdu/Shan Dong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (China), the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (China) and an on-site student clinic. This study trip to China for three months is listed in our curriculum as optional but strongly encouraged.
