Centre for Ayurveda & Indian Systems of Healing (CAISH)

Centre for Ayurveda & Indian Systems of Healing (CAISH), Canadian Premier School for Ayurveda & Indian Systems of Healing, located in Toronto, is one of a kind in North America. CAISH offers traditional East Indian medicine as a whole, integrated with modalities of other eastern & western holistic arts & sciences.

CAISH runs long-term comprehensive training programs divided into (short modules) credit courses, along with short-term programs, and a variety of courses, workshops and seminars. This format allows interested students to enroll in more than one course.

CAISH provides the highest level of training and support to their students. Our faculty has extensive backgrounds and training in Ayurveda, Yoga, Nadi Vigyan (Neurotherapy), Integrative Yoga, Indian Naturopathy, Ayurvedic massage (Abhyanga), Pancha karma and, having been classically trained in India through academia and private teachers, maintaining the true lineage of Ayurved & Yoga.

Certification:

Upon successful graduation, our student's are certified through the EBNMP (Examining Board of Natural Medicine Practitioners), allowing graduates to apply for municipal practicing licensure and professional insurance. We are also exclusive members for Ayurveda and Indian Medicine Studies through EBNMP.

Students of CAISH will be able to get a transfer of credits to the following Institutions:

  • Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN)- Canada
  • Institute of Traditional Medicine (ITM)-Canada
  • Westbrook University- New Mexico, USA
  • International College of Alternative Medicine- International

In addition, students who are registered for our full time programs in either Ayurvedic Therapy or Neurotherapy Programs, are also eligible to take the *weekend workshops as many times as they are offered within their academic year.

Qualify to become…

Ayurvedic Therapist - 550 hours

This course will give an intermediate understanding of Ayurveda - "Mother of Healing". The student participating and studying in this program will be exploring the concepts, principles & practices of Ayurvedic medicine.

The objective of this program is to teach Ayurvedic concepts in health and disease, understanding of doshas, and determining the constitutions. Individuals will learn about ayurvedic diagnostic tools and will be able to guide clients using the basic ayurvedic herbs, ayurvedic lifestyle, and nutrition.

Nadi Mardan Chikitsa Neurotherapist - 550 hours

Neurotherapy is the little-known science within the umbrella of Ayurveda & Yoga. It is a complete approach to care and is again much different than the primary therapies practiced in Ayurveda. It works through touch at the subtle (energy) level.

This program will teach individuals the skill of regulating the prana flow through the nerve channels to stimulate or depress the blood, & other body fluids and the nerve currents so as to restore the balance and harmony of the body thus helping the body regain its equilibrium.

Ayurvedic Wellness and Spa Practitioner - 250 hours

This program is designed to equip graduates with the knowledge how wellness therapies like those of Ayurveda and other Indian systems can play an important role in various health and wellness sectors of today and tomorrow. This program will best serve those who have a management/business background that may be currently looking to upgrade their hospitality qualifications or for those who wish to open their own, consult to, or manage for one of the following related operations: Spas, Resorts, B&B's and Hotels, Yoga studios and Yoga Retreats/Ashrams, Integrated Wellness Centers and Corporate Wellness Programs.

Ayurvedic Counselor - 250 hours

The objective of this program is to teach Ayurvedic philosophy and concepts in health and disease, understanding of doshas, and determining the constitutions. Individuals will learn about ayurvedic assessment tools and will be able to guide clients using the basic ayurvedic herbs, ayurvedic lifestyle, and nutrition.

AYU-YOGA THERAPIST -200 hours

The Ayu-Yoga gives students in-depth skills to learn & teach yoga based on principles of Ayurveda for total wellness. Along with offering Yoga classes for specific health related purpose to the general public, Ayu-Yog graduates will teach Ayu-Yoga wellness programs in a wide variety of complementary settings, including hospitals, businesses, universities, clinics and complimentary health care settings.

100-hour Certification Programs

  • Pulse Diagnosis. Levels I and II
  • Panchakarma Levels I, II, and III.
  • Abhyanga Levels I, II, and III.
  • Including Shirodhara, Indian Head Massage, and more
  • Nadi Marma Chikitsa

*"Overview of Ayurvedic Medicine" or "Introduction to Ayurveda" is a prerequisite for these programs.
