Associate of Science - Therapeutic Massage and Skin Care

Daytona College's Therapeutic Massage and Skin Care is an Associate of Science Degree program. You'll be prepared to perform dual roles in the allied health and spa industry as a Massage Therapist and Facial Specialist. You'll learn:

• The structure and function of the human body
• Massage therapy procedures and techniques
• Allied modalities
• Hydrotherapy
• Law and ethics
• Prevention of medical errors
• Proper procedures behind the use of skin care techniques
• Aromatherapy
• Business and client development

The unique combined program prepares you for the National Certification Examination offered by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork for licensure as a massage therapist in Florida and also for Registration as a Facial Specialist with a Certification in Body Wrapping in Florida.

After you graduate, you can be licensed for massage therapy, registered as a facial specialist and certified in body wrapping. You're also qualified for entry-level employment as a licensed and registered professional who possesses training critical for employment opportunities in resort spas and medical facilities. You'll be able to demonstrate communication and employable skills as well as apply professional and appropriate ethics to all areas of the job.

Diploma - Aesthetics Skincare

Make a living helping people look good and feel good with training in Aesthetics Skincare. Your Aesthetics Skincare training includes learning the traditional holistic approach to skincare and instruction in:

• Mask and spa therapies

• Enzyme treatments

You're introduced to medical pharmaceutical product protocols, the principles of effective retailing and general business development as it relates to the practice of the skincare professional. After you graduate, you'll understand the structure and function of the skin and how to apply skin care treatments through the effective utilization of product and equipment protocols.

The Aesthetics Skincare Program prepares you for registration in the state of Florida as a Registered Facial Specialist and Certified Body Wrapper. Your certification as a Registered Facial Specialist and Certified Body Wrapper opens doors for entry-level employment in resort spas and medical facilities.

Diploma - Cosmetology

Prepare for the beginning of an exciting career behind the chair, as a platform artist, salon owner or celebrity stylist with Daytona College. You'll be well equipped for your future in one of the most exciting industries in the world, the beauty industry! After testing to obtain your cosmetology license, you can specialize in a certain area or do it all. It's in your hands.

The Therapeutic Massage program at Daytona College provides training in therapeutic massage with knowledge of the structure and function of the human body. You'll receive training in:
