East-West Healing Arts Institute is different. Through our comprehensive, systematic program, you will learn both Eastern and Western massage modalities. Our ProgramOur 800-hour program is designed to be completed in 10 or 20 months, depending on which option you choose. We offer the most hours of instruction and experience currently offered anywhere in the Midwest. Our faculty is carefully chosen for their combination of expertise and teaching credentials, and for their ability to create a dynamic, interactive classroom learning experience. You'll learn a wide range of Eastern modalities, including TuiNa (Chinese Medical Massage), Acupressure and Acustone Techniques, Foot and Hand Reflexology, JinShinDo, and Polarity Therapy. CranioSacral Therapy, Sports Massage, Swedish Massage, and Deep Tissue Technique are just a few of the Western modalities you'll learn, too. Another highlight of our successful program is that we offer the most hands-on clinic hours in Wisconsin. You'll devote 100 clock hours to giving massage to clients at our Student Massage Clinic. At East-West Healing Arts Institute, you will gain the tools you need to succeed as a massage practitioner. And, because our focus is on the whole person -- body, mind and spirit -- you will learn to dedicate your entire being to helping others. Credentials, Certification
Advanced Internship Study AbroadIn addition to the standard massage therapy program, students also have the exclusive opportunity to participate in a 80-hour advanced training course at medical colleges and hospitals in China with our Internship Study Abroad program. In this optional advanced training program, students study with doctors in Harbin, Beijing, and ShaingHai China. Interns have to opportunity to practice TuiNa Chinese Medical Massage techniques under the most expert supervision available on the planet! Founder and PresidentDr. XiPing Zhou, O.M.D., M.S.M., L.Ac., The training and qualifications of the founder and president of the East-West Healing Arts Institute are remarkable. Traditionally trained in China as a doctor of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), Dr. XiPing Zhou is one of the nation's leading authorities on acupuncture, TCM, acupressure, and Chinese medical massage. He has been practicing Tui Na and TCM for over 28 years. Dr. Zhou, a licensed acupuncturist with a thriving practice, taught for six years as the Professor of Chinese Herbs and TuiNa (Chinese Medical Massage) at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Racine, Wis. He is nationally certified as an Oriental Bodywork Instructor from the American Oriental Bodywork Therapy Association (AOBTA). Dr. Zhou is also the primary Eastern theory and techniques instructor with whom you will work at East-West Healing Arts Institute.
