Hamrick School

Our program includes training in the foundation, skills and knowledge needed to start a practice or seek employment as a massage therapist. The Hamrick massage therapy program is designed to provide students with in-depth skills necessary to develop the required techniques of massage.

Our Curriculum

A balance of academic knowledge, technical expertise and clinical skills will provide the student with a competitive advantage in the growing field of massage. Students acquire a solid base of knowledge in anatomy and physiology required by the State Medical Board of Ohio. The student will learn massage therapy through instruction and also hands-on training.

The massage therapy program is taught over four quarters (each quarter is twelve weeks in length). A full-time student will complete the program in one year. The program exceeds the State Medical Board of Ohio's minimum requirement of 750 clock hours of massage training and includes 62.5 credit hours.

Our School

Established in 1980 as a truck driving school, Hamrick School has been successfully training students for over 27 years. In November 2005 Hamrick School prepared for the addition of programs in allied health by building a new facility to accommodate the addition of a massage therapy program. It is equipped with classrooms, laboratories, clinic areas and administrative offices.

The Future

Graduates of this program will be eligible to sit for the Ohio Licensure Examination held every June and December. Career opportunities include working on cruise ships and at spas, physical therapy clinics, hospitals, physician's offices, professional athletic teams, sports clinics and with chiropractors. Many massage therapists also like the freedom and independence associated with being self-employed.
