The Pathway to Becoming a Registered Massage Therapist

The International Academy of Massage program is designed with its primary goal being 'entry level competency', with the development of skills and the knowledge to practice as a massage therapist.

The 2328 hour program consists of 2264 Practical Lab/Academic hours comprised of theory, practical application, specialty subjects such as sports massage, supervised clinical and outreach sessions plus 64 Supervised Project Activity Hours. The Academy maintains an on-site RMT Program Director to help guide students through their program and to assist as needed with questions and clarifications of techniques.

The program is completed in 73 Training weeks, generally conducted on a 4 day week/3 day weekend basis. There is also a 2 week Christmas vacation, a 1 week Spring Break and a 5 week summer vacation for personal & family time.

The Academy offers a 3 Option Freedom of Choice Tuition program:

Prepay and Save
Interest Free Monthly
Low Interest Partnership Plan with up to 60 months after program completion to repay the loan and has a low interest rate.

Program Fees are all inclusive! Save the high cost of books and most supplies.

Start September 5th 2006 and you will be completed in April 2008.

About Us

The 7,000 sq. ft International Academy Health Education Centre (IAHEC) houses the International Academy of Massage, the International Academy of Natural Health Sciences and the International Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Facilities include six classrooms, a student lounge, and an adjacent Natural Health Clinic, all on the ground floor of a residential building in Ottawa's West End. Easily accessible by bus or car, with nearby parking. The roots of the IAHEC were established in 1980.

The International Academy of Massage has been a registered and approved Private Career College under the Private Career Colleges Act for the Province of Ontario, Ministry of Education, Training and Colleges, since 1998.
