MASSAGE THERAPY

MASSAGE THERAPY DIPLOMA PROGRAM

At Kikkawa College, we offer a program that reflects 30 years of specialization in the training of massage therapists. Accept nothing less than a college that has continuously provided leadership, innovation and long-standing tradition of excellence in massage therapy education in Canada.

The Massage Therapy Diploma Program provides students with an integrated curriculum model developed by ICT Schools' Department of Education. Our program is client-centered and reflects a holistic approach in the delivery of massage therapy treatments. Kikkawa College prepares students for Provincial examinations leading to registration with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).

Kikkawa College is "Registered as a private career college under the Private Career College Act, 2005". Students may be eligible for financial aid through the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP).

CURRICULUM

Our unique student-centered-interactive-learning (SCIL) approach to education enhances students understanding of the curriculum and encourages the development of critical thinking skills. By integrating their knowledge of the health sciences with practical hands-on skills students are afforded opportunities to develop critical thinking skills, essential for the safe and effective practice of massage therapy. Classes are taught using a combination of lecture, hands-on practical training, and group seminars. Our students not only learn the essentials of Swedish and orthopeadic approaches to massage, but also have the opportunity to choose from a list of elective courses which provide them with a richer educational experience that inevitably enhances treatment skills.

Students in both years of the program participate in the student teaching clinic and community outreach clinics where their knowledge and skills are further integrated.

PROGRAM ENTRY OPTIONS

Transfer up to 30 credits towards your degree at Athabasca. By attending Kikkawa College the tuition you pay for your massage therapy diploma can, at the same time, pay for up to 30 of the 120 credits required to complete your degree.
