In our FOUNDATION PROGRAM of 100 hours, you will learn about nutrition, herbal medicine, reflexology, lymphatic drainage, craniosacral therapy, home remedies, Eastern philosophy of digestion & the use of clean, warm water to gently cleanse the colon. You prepare at home with correspondence course materials then attend 8 days of practice in a clinical setting under supervision. We teach this program often throughout the year. The MASTER Program is open to any therapist who has been in practice a minimum of 1 year. We explore the following topics: Parasites; Eating Disorders; Autonomic & Enteric Nervous Systems; Ethics & Boundaries; Working with Emotions; Using Implants; Aromatherapy; Massage Techniques including Visceral Manipulation; Lymphatic Drainage; Pathology of the Digestive System and Embryological development of the GI tract. Classes with these topics are rotated throughout the year so please let us know which one interests you. We offer this program in Florida and England in October, 2009.

The ART of TEACHING is our mentorship program designed to prepare you to teach colon hydrotherapy. We help candidates learn how to identify a student's learning style and strengthen their strengths. The schedule allows for participants to demonstrate their expertise and have positive feedback from the instructor and observers. Participants will receive coaching regarding leadership qualities and how to create a safe space for healing to occur. We inform candidates of the most recent research regarding stress responses and trauma held in the nervous systems and how it relates to digestive process and our role as colon hydrotherapists. Building lesson plans and managing the classroom will be covered. Candidates assist Cathy in the FOUNDATION program for an authentic teaching experience towards I-ACT INSTRUCTOR CANDIDACY. I-ACT testing is available at all of our courses. I am also available to do PRIVATE TEACHING at your location. I am happy to discuss your needs and tailor the program to fit your staff.

Cathy & Michael Shea Married January 1, 1990

When I met my husband, Michael J. Shea, Ph.D., I had just finished my first series of colon hydrotherapy treatments (colonics). As we sat at dinner on our first date, I was amazed to find out that he was both a massage and colon hydrotherapist. I began to travel and study with him in 1990 after we were married. It became clear to me that my career in real estate was coming to an end as I was entering into my practice of helping people heal themselves. I then became licensed in Florida in 1992 and began a full-time practice of colon hydrotherapy. Michael encouraged me to begin teaching and after assisting him at numerous courses around the world, I felt ready. In 1994 I invited 6 of my best friends to take my first colon hydrotherapy course and it was such fun! We laughed and learned together. I was delighted at this new direction in my life. It felt like I had answered a deep calling and my work has become my spiritual practice. I was one of the first instructors recognized by the International Association for Colon Therapy (I-ACT). I have personally taught over 600 people from 26 countries over the years. I enjoyed 8 years of teaching in a beautiful alpine village in Switzerland as well as holding classes in Italy, Holland and the UK. Michael and I travel extensively together as we live a life that is full of health and happiness.
