Level 1 - Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor (AWC)

500-Hour Certification Program

The Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor (AWC) Program is based on the first goal of Ayurveda—Swasthasya Swasthya Rakshanam - to preserve the health of a healthy person. Students will gain the tools necessary to restore and preserve health and prevent disease. These tools include a comprehensive nutritional education (Ahara), daily routines and practices to maximize health (Vihar) and a clear understanding of the mind and thought processes (Vichara) and their relationship to well-being.

Level 2 - Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner (AWP)

1000-Hour Certification Program

The Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner (AWP) program is based on the second goal of Ayurveda--aatarusya vikara prashamanam. At this level, Kerala Ayurveda students will gain a deeper understanding of Ayurvedic concepts and learn Ayurvedic analysis and management of various disease states.

• Dosha Dhatu Mala Vigyan, Agni, Srotas Vigyan
• Roga Samprapti (Ayurvedic pathology)
• Rogi Pariksha (Client examination)
• Panchakarma and Marma Therapy (Ayurvedic detoxification)
• Roga Nidan and Kayachikitsa--Five Part Series (Dosha Imbalance Diagnosis and Management)
• Ayurvedic Gynecology and Pediatrics
• Clinical internship
• Trip to India

20-Day Trip to India

For 20 days, the students will lead an Ayurvedic lifestyle on a 50-acre Ayurvedic resort in Bangalore, India. The visit is designed to give students a firsthand experience of the benefits of Ayurveda. During the visit, students shadow senior Ayurvedic doctors and participate in Ayurvedic diagnosis, treatment planning and implementation. Students will get hands-on training in traditional Ayurveda therapies, Ayurvedic cookery, beauty therapies, Ayurvedic yoga modules and undergo their own 14-day intensive Panchakarma rejuvenation treatment.

Individual Course Study (ICS)

Many are interested in specific areas of Ayurveda, so we at Kerala Ayurveda have made individual modules of course study available through the 'Individual Course Study' program. This allows for the specialized and focused study on specific topics of interest. These courses are offered individually or in bundles of topic-specific programs that can also be customized into your own program to suit your needs. The courses are conveniently offered through our advanced Web-based system and can be taken at anytime, anywhere.
