The paramedical esthetician program at Keiser Career College will prepare students for employment as paramedical estheticians. Paramedical estheticians work with plastic surgeons and dermatologists in pre- and post-operative skin care. Under the guidance of a licensed health care provider, they provide treatments that prepare the skin for surgery for a more comfortable healing process. In addition to studying techniques used in the medical community, students will study advanced skin care training marketable in spas and salons, developing skills used to protect, heal and beautify the skin, while counteracting the aging process. Students will participate in a clinical setting to apply skills that have been acquired in the program. A diploma will be awarded upon successful completion of this program. Upon successful completion of the paramedical esthetician program, students may apply to receive their Florida State Registration Certificate as a Skin Care Specialist. Students must have a social security number to be eligible for state licensure. Associate's - Spa ManagementThis program provides instruction in how to effectively run, manage and direct all operations involved in a spa establishment. This includes but is not limited to human resources, retailing, customer service, accounting and marketing. In addition to the business aspects, graduates will be trained in skin care, aromatherapy, spa treatments and cosmetics and color theory to effectively serve as role models and team leaders for their employees. The Associate of Science is designed to prepare students for career opportunities in spa and spa related fields and includes a general education component which complements the comprehensive skills. A degree will be awarded upon successful completion of this program and will provide the competitive edge necessary to compete in this growing industry.
