Our Massage Programs

Northwest Academy offers a comprehensive curriculum which integrates the art and science of massage therapy and bodywork. We encourage students to view massage therapy as a part of a well-rounded approach to healthcare. Students gain first-hand knowledge of other healthcare disciplines from experienced faculty members, who are leaders in their own field. Students learn how massage treatments can compliment acupuncture, chiropractic, naturopathic and allopathic medicine.

Our students can either choose a 7-month weekday or a 12-month weekend massage program. These programs are designed to complement the schedule of students with full-time employment.

The coursework at Northwest Academy prepares our students to find employment opportunities in a wide variety of professional settings, such as: athletic training facilities, spas and resorts, hospitals, chiropractic offices, birthing centers, medical offices, wellness centers, airports, cruise ships, and private practice. Our students study a variety of massage therapy techniques, as well as communication skills, professional ethics and business management. Our on-site student massage clinic, located in the West Seattle Whole Health Center, gives students the opportunity to hone their massage and professional skills while working with individuals from our community.

Our commitment to the educational and professional success of our students and graduates has allowed us to maintain a 100% pass rate on the national board exams, as well as, a career placement percentage above the national school average.

Our beautiful and conveniently located West Seattle campus is surrounded by flourishing parks, beaches, neighborhood cafes, and natural food markets. We are easily accessible by car, bus, and ferry. Small Class Sizes

We offer the smallest class sizes in Seattle! Our average class size of 8 students allows for a friendly and supportive atmosphere, ideal for the student who excels in personalized education.

Experienced Faculty

Our experienced faculty members consist of licensed massage therapists, medical doctors, acupuncturist, and physical therapists. All of our instructors hold degrees or advanced certification in the subject matter that they teach, with many of them also teaching at the university level.

Student Self-Care Opportunities

One of the most important things that a student can learn is self-care. Our students have the opportunity to take weekly yoga and qigong classes free of charge. We also reimburse students for monthly acupuncture and massage sessions.

Externship Opportunities

We have partnered with many healthcare faculties in the greater Seattle area to provide our students real-life experiences within the massage profession. Our students have the opportunity to intern at massage therapy clinics, medical offices, counseling centers, and hospitals. These opportunities not only allow students to gain professional experience but often lead to employment.
