Our alumni are prepared to meet the increasing demand for Integrative medicine - taking the best from holistic modalities and working with Western medicine. School of Massage TherapyMassage Therapy is a licensed health care profession in New York State. New York College offers an AOS degree in Massage Therapy and graduates are eligible to take the New York State licensing exam. Massage Therapy most commonly falls into two categories: European (Swedish) which focuses on the musculoskeletal system and is based on standard Western anatomy and physiology, and Eastern (Asian massage) which is based on the movement of energy through various channels in the body. In addition to learning both Western and Oriental health sciences and massage techniques, students can take electives in the popular techniques of sports massage, reflexology, infant massage, stone massage, chair massage, shiatsu and other modalities clients ask for today.
