Omaha School of Massage Therapy

The Omaha School of Massage Therapy (OSMT) mission is to consistently pursue academic excellence by exposing students to a well-balanced program that incorporates theory, physiology, anatomy, complimentary courses and practical experiences that are pivotal to personal and professional growth.

Facility

OSMT is a 10,000 square foot facility, located in Omaha, Nebraska. OSMT is located in Southwest Omaha within close proximity of many apartment complexes making it convenient to find housing close to the school.

The facility is comprised of a variety of areas. There are four instructional classrooms, eight private therapy rooms, a spa room, a hydrotherapy room, a steam shower and five administrative offices. The massage clinic classroom is equipped with a variety of massage tables as well as massage chairs.

The student lounge/kitchen area houses a sink, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and various vending machines. Each student is issued a personal locker in the locker room and a mailbox.

We maintain a reference library accessible to all students and alumni. Situated in the library are computers that students use for Internet research or for typing and printing papers for their classes. The library also provides books, pamphlets, video and audiotapes pertaining to the field of massage and related subjects.

Philosophy and Educational Objective

It is our desire to promote natural and holistic health through massage and bodywork along with complimentary alternative therapies. We provide instruction and a thorough working knowledge of various therapeutic massage techniques, function and structure of the human body, and development of professional habits.

It is the educational objective of the Omaha School of Massage Therapy to provide the student with the skills and knowledge for an entry level position in the field of massage therapy. This is accomplished through a 1000 clock hour program. The course of study is approved and accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will receive a diploma and will be prepared for the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB), successful completion of which is required for Nebraska censure and practice.
