The mission of the Port Townsend School of Massage is to create and provide a thriving learning community which fosters excellence in natural therapies.

Port Townsend has long been known as a place of healing.

The Native Americans respected it as a place of growth, healing and transformation. We believe that it is the desire to heal, majestic mountains, calming waters, and the amazing sense of community surrounding Port Townsend which draw students to PTSM.

Our faculty and students are dedicated to creating a learning environment that is supportive, safe, structured, caring and accepting. In the classroom we not only teach, we also learn. Our commitment to this learning environment is renewed with each new group of students.

PTSM is one of the smaller, community oriented, privately owned massage schools in the Pacific Northwest.

Students that attend our program come from varied backgrounds and locations. Many are looking to make changes in their lives by beginning a new career or by following a path they have wanted to pursue for many years. Others come to us right out of high school, ready to put their dreams into action. They have come from as far away as Germany and Alaska and as close as our own home town.

How Are We Unique?

Our Learning Style

Students enter our program with different learning styles and abilities. Knowing how you learn is just as important as what you learn. Is your learning style visual, kinesthetic, auditory, or a mixture of styles? We'll work with you to find your optimal learning style. Finding your individual learning style is an important part of acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to becoming licensed massage practitioner.

Our Focus on community

Our class sizes are limited to 18 students.

This small and intimate atmosphere creates a wonderful learning environment where long, deep friendships are developed.

More than just classmates, our students form a community of people working towards a healing way of life that supports their personal lifestyles and values.

Our Schedules

PTSM offers two unique schedules, a 545-hour Weekend Program and a 650-hour Weekday Program-allowing you to find a schedule that fits your needs. Every aspect of our programs are success oriented.
