Our PhilosophyRegardless of what's drawing you to the chiropractic field, be assured that Sherman is true in spirit to the principles of the profession established by its founder, Daniel David Palmer, who discovered that locating, analyzing and correcting misaligned bones in the spine would allow the body to function better.
Sherman is the only chiropractic college that has been consistently dedicated (since 1973) to advancing vertebral-subluxation centered chiropractic. By focusing on true chiropractic care you'll make a powerful impact on the world as you help people lead fuller, healthier, happier lives. Doctor of ChiropracticSherman College's 14-quarter program is designed to offer all the courses pertinent to chiropractic education. Courses cover biological and clinical sciences and all aspects of chiropractic, including establishing and maintaining a successful practice. Our faculty members are experienced chiropractors, masters of the science, philosophy and art of chiropractic and esteemed health care professionals from throughout the world. With small class sizes and a low student-teacher ratio (maximum of 15:1, though our actual ratio is closer to 10:1), you'll develop close personal relationships with instructors who are committed to helping you become an expert in straight chiropractic. Chiropractic Health CenterOne of the most exciting components of Sherman's curriculum is an internship in our world-class Chiropractic Health Center. As a student intern, you'll care for patients from the community using modern techniques, state-of-the-art analytical and adjusting equipment, and the latest research data. Under the supervision of licensed, experienced doctors, you'll get a true feel for the life of a chiropractor. An exciting dimension to the Chiropractic Health Center experience is the college's fully digital x-ray department. Sherman students learn the newest technology available, both in x-ray courses and in practical applications in the Health Center. AdmissionClass size is limited, so apply early to assure a place in the enrolling class of your choice. Quarters begin in January, April, July and October. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 90 undergraduate semester hours and earned a minimum 2.50 GPA in all course work and a 2.50 cumulative GPA in the prerequisite courses listed below; details are on our web site.
Effective spring 2008, Sherman College will raise its entering GPA requirement by one-tenth of a point each year, until the entering GPA reaches 3.0 in 2012. Applicants must have completed the following courses:
Tuition, Financial Aid, ScholarshipsTuition for the 2007 calendar year is $5,726 per quarter. A $150 reservation fee is required upon acceptance. Sherman College offers a comprehensive tuition assistance program for qualified students. Nearly 98% of Sherman students receive some form of financial aid. Students can also apply for a range of scholarships. Ideal EnvironmentIn Spartanburg, you'll find the perfect balance of opportunities to work and play. Spartanburg sits at the intersection of Interstates 85 and 26 in the hub of the thriving upstate region of South Carolina. The area offers easy access to the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, the Blue Ridge Mountains and foothills, miles of famed white beaches on the South Carolina coast, and big city life in nearby Atlanta and Charlotte. Local facilities and state parks offer camping, skiing, hiking, white water rafting, horseback riding, biking, golf and more. A true college town, Spartanburg is home to six colleges and more than 10,000 students.
