The School

Since 1996, Southern California Health Institute has been dedicated and committed to helping students achieve their dreams by providing an exceptional education that enables them to become skilled and successful manual therapists. We have graduated over 1,500 students who are now a part of a larger community of wellness and health care.

Our mission is to provide quality programs in an environment of scholastic learning to encourage empathetic and compassionate therapists, dedicated to the ethical and social principles of the profession and committed to a lifetime of continued learning.

The Experience

The Southern California Health Institute experience is more than what happens in the classroom. Students have an opportunity to take part in the community to discover their passions, refine their goals and develop their character.

Students will be a part of a school community which is focused in therapeutic healing through the art of touch. The experience at the school will lead the student on the path to a successful and gratifying career in health and wellness with the assistance of SOCHI's professional career services team.

The Education

SOCHI offers an education that challenges, inspires, and prepares students for success. Our integrated massage therapy and physical therapy aide/sports rehab therapist curriculum is designed to offer the best of both worlds; a combination of academic rigor and practical application of theory.

It is our responsibility to encourage and foster the value of life-long learning, to provide the most up-to-date and comprehensive information available, and to give the student the support necessary to successfully earn their certificate.

SOCHI focuses its teaching on European Medical Massage Therapy, which was developed in Russia and later in Germany some hundreds of years ago. This method of therapy is non-invasive in nature and has been shown to be extremely effective in treating and preventing injuries, stress and illness. Additionally, our curriculum is rich with other methodologies, such as:

Deep Tissue
Sports Massage
Acupressure
Reflexology
Shiatsu
Thai
Hot Stone
Aromatherapy
Trigger Point
Chair Massage
Pregnancy Massage

This is just a sampling of what one will learn. The most unique offering at SOCHI is the Physical Therapy Aide/Sports Rehab program, which provides the student with career training as a Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab Aide and a Massage Therapist. The program applies an integrated approach to health and wellness by incorporating medical massage and physical therapy modalities.
