Massage Therapy Program

Our program of study has been created from our commitment to establish high standards of quality, ethical education and career development. Our primary goal is to prepare the graduate to pass the Florida State Board Exam for Licensed Massage Therapist designation. Our commitment is to assist the student in future endeavors. And, we look forward to a warm and lasting relationship.

Program Objectives

Space Coast Health Institute has established the following objectives for the Basic Massage Program:

  • Prepare students to sit for the Florida State Board Exam for massage therapy.
  • Provide a positive learning environment, focusing on the development of the student as a professional in the health care field.
  • Provide a strong, comprehensive curriculum to meet student interests in the field of massage therapy
  • Provide a highly qualified and caring faculty to guide students in all aspects of the profession.

Basic Massage Program (500 Hours)
As required by the Florida Board of Massage Therapy, this program consists of 500 classroom (clock) hours of instruction in the required subjects. The classes of instruction are as follows:

Massage Theory and Practice (225 Hours)
Anatomy & Physiology (150 Hours)
Hydrotherapy (15 Hours)
Florida Massage Law (10 Hours)
AIDS/HIV Education (3 Hours)
Allied Modalities (97 Hours) - general overviews of the following:

  • Aromatherapy
  • Cranio-Sacral
  • Medical Massage
  • Myofascial Release
  • Seated Chair Massage
  • Sports Massage
  • Polarity
  • Pregnancy Massage
  • Infant Massage
  • Reflexology
