Polarity serves as the key to unlock the door to the source, allowing for genuinely new choices. Utilizing hands-on contacts, toning, breathing and gentle communication techniques, this work embodies a full holistic health care system, and can be used to empower other modalities as well. Reflexology and Toe Reading200 Hours Reflexology Program /100 Classroom Hour Toe Reading Certificate Reflexology is the third most requested massage modality in major salons and resorts, and SWIHA's Reflexology program is one of the most thorough and eclectic in the country. Classes address the physical and clinical application of reflexology as well as emotional and medical intuitive realms. The program prepares students to sit for ARCB certification. Toe Reading is taking the country by storm and it all started at SWIHA! Toe Reading is based on the theory that the body holographically records the story of a person's life. Observing someone's toes will tell you a great deal about their past experiences. Using facilitated dialogue and coaching skills, clients can experience transformation. Toe Reading is fun and very profitable. (Toe Reading was even featured on CNN). Reiki – Traditional / TransformationalThe term "Reiki" is a combination of two Japanese characters – Rei which means "spiritual" or "sacred" and Ki which means "energy." In the West, Reiki is most often described as universal life force energy – an unseen force that gives us life and flows through us. Furthermore, it is believed that when this life force energy is low or depleted, we are more likely to suffer stress and dis-ease. When it is high, we are more likely to be joyful and healthy. Reiki is administered by a "laying on of hands" and can have remarkable healing effects. A treatment may feel like a warm, glowing radiance flowing through and around you. Although Reiki training involves learning symbols and techniques, the healing ability itself is not "taught" in the usual sense. It is transferred to the student by a Reiki Master during an "attunement," allowing the student to tap into the unlimited supply of universal life force energy. Spa Treatments"Spa Treatments" refer to a variety of modalities that promote relaxation, pampering, wellness and detoxification. Examples include: Aromatherapy; Ayurvedic Therapies; East Indian Head and Hand Massage; LaStone Therapy; Lymphatic Massage; Salt Glow Massage; Swedish Sedona; and more! Spiritual StudiesOur Spiritual Studies program is designed for those individuals being "called" to a place of spiritual leadership in their lives and in their own communities. Whether this calling leads them to be an ordained minister, spiritual healer or simply leads to a journey of self-awakening, our nondenominational, non-rhetoric based path of study emphasizes discovery of one's own individual heart-felt path through the discovery and development of one's own spirit given gifts. Thai MassageA comprehensive full body therapy using techniques developed over 2,000 years ago by the personal physician of Buddha and practiced through the centuries in the temples of Thailand. Thai Massage applies slow deep pressure along energy lines coupled with yoga like stretches. The client wears loose clothing and the massage is practiced on a futon. Tui NaTui Na" is an ancient form of Chinese physical therapy, some 2000 years old. It combines two specific hand techniques used in Chinese medical massage – "Tui" meaning to push and "Na" meaning to pull or to lift and squeeze. This modality uses traction, massage and manipulation in conjunction with stimulation of acupressure points. Based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) modality, Tui Na combines these hand techniques with passive and active stretching to assist in restoring correct anatomical musculoskeletal relationships, neuromuscular patterns, and increasing blood circulation and Qi (or "chi") through the organ meridians to facilitate healing and prevent further injury. As with nearly all holistic health practices, this style of Asian bodywork supports the body's powerful innate ability to heal itself. Zen ShiatsuTrue healing involves balancing the flow of life or "chi" to promote physical, structural, mental, emotional and spiritual health. "Zen Shiatsu" is a form of bodywork administered by the thumbs, fingers, palms, elbows, feet and knees. The professional Zen Shiatsu practitioner is trained to feel and intuit the condition of the body, particularly the circulation, by his/her hands in order to find imbalanced areas. The client remains fully clothed during the treatment. No massage oils or lotions are needed because rather than sliding along the body surface, a series of gentle specific presses are given along the meridian pathways. Do Your Dream At SWIHA
Student Centered LearningAt SWIHA, we celebrate the differences in our learners, and teach to different learning styles to help students master the materials. For example, the fundamentals of anatomy are brought to life with use of music, guided imagery, rhythm, dramatization, games and song. We offer more actual classroom and hands-on training than any school in the valley. Expert InstructorsAll instructors at SWIHA are practicing therapists or Holistic Health Care Practitioners. Our expert instructors are passionate about the subjects they teach. We expose students to the most knowledgeable instructors in the valley and we regularly host international teachers. In addition, we have many experts in the field providing role models and a wide network of contacts. At SWIHA our instructors are reminded to "teach only love, for that is all there really is," and to question "what good is it for a student to master the material if their soul is battered along the way?" "Learn to touch lives, heal bodies, and free souls." If you are interested in any of our programs and would like to find out more, please Request Information. |
