When it comes to excellence in education, TSTCM has a proven track-record of success. Founded in 1995 by Mary Xiumei Wu, one of Canada's foremost experts on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, the school has spent the last 15 years refining its curriculum and training methods. As of 2010, graduates who have taken exams in the US have attained a 100 percent pass-rate for AOM certification. With our proven training methods, graduates have acquired the knowledge, skills and tools they need to build rewarding and successful careers practicing TCM and Acupuncture. To accomplish our mission, we have set the following objectives:
Diploma Programs leading to professional designations:Acupuncturist:This is a 3 academic year full time program with 2260 didactic hours including 680 hours of clinical training. The program can be completed in two years with an intensive schedule, or 3-5 years part time. It enables the graduates to become Acupuncturists who can provide safe and effective acupuncture treatments for a wide range of conditions. This program is substantially equivalent to the Master's Degree program for Acupuncture in the United States. TCM Herbalist:This is a 3 academic year full time program with 2260 didactic hours including 680 hours of clinical training. The program can be completed in two years with an intensive schedule, or 3-5 years part time. It enables the graduates to become TCM Herbalists who can provide safe and effective Chinese Herbal Medicine treatments for a wide range of conditions. TCM PractitionerThis is a 4 academic year full time program with 2880 didactic hours including 920 hours of clinical training. The program can be completed in three years with an intensive schedule, or 5-8 years part time. It enables the graduates to become TCM Practitioners and to provide safe and effective acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Tuina Massage for common health conditions. This program is substantially equivalent to the Master's Degree program for Oriental Medicine in the United States. Doctor of TCM:This is a 5 academic years full time program with 4220 didactic hours including 1340 hours of clinical training. The program can be completed in four years with an intensive schedule, or 5-8 years part time. Graduates of this program are highly educated primary care providers who will be able to provide comprehensive, accurate and effective TCM diagnosis and treatments that are integrated with the mainstream health care system for serious and complicated conditions. Graduates of this program can be qualified and become Doctors of TCM in Canada. Students may apply and be admitted to this program directly, or as post graduate study for acupuncturists, TCM herbalists and TCM practitioners. This program is substantially equivalent to the Doctoral Degree program in AOM starting from the entry level in the United States. Flexible SchedulesOur full-time intensive schedule for modularized programs allows the students to complete their training within the shortest period of time.
